Can Ragfeed replace Firecrawl in an existing integration?
Ragfeed documents Firecrawl v1/v2 endpoints and compatibility with its Python and Node.js SDKs after changing the base URL and API key. Compatibility is not complete: branding, audio and video formats and persistent browser sessions are unsupported. Use plain HTTP for the Ragfeed-specific llmMarkdown and chunks formats, which the SDKs may reject. These compatibility statements are vendor-documented, not an independent interoperability test.
Does all processing stay in the EU?
No. Ragfeed places core API processing and storage at OVH in Limburg, Germany, and optional AI processing at Scaleway in France. Cloudflare delivers the website and API through its global network. Optional web search sends search terms to public search engines; archive fallback sends URLs to Common Crawl in the US. Payment and email providers have additional arrangements. European core hosting does not make the entire processing chain EU-only.
How long are results retained?
The privacy policy says ordinary job results and screenshots are deleted after 24 hours, while public-page caching can last 48 hours. Change tracking and the monitoring beta retain comparison data longer. The zeroDataRetention option still retains job results for about 60 minutes. Account, billing and usage records have separate retention periods. Scaleway may retain AI request content for up to two weeks for technical-error or abuse investigation.
Which languages and service guarantees are available?
Signup, the dashboard, checkout, emails and legal texts are in German. English product pages and a developer quickstart are available, and English support questions are welcome. Ragfeed offers no SLA and does not bypass logins, paywalls or CAPTCHAs. An Article 28 data processing agreement is available to businesses on request.
